Abstract
Objectives: This study examined the addiction interaction between mobile-phone and computer use.
Methods: Using three waves from the Korea Child and Youth Panel Survey, the researcher performed panel regression analysis, including a random and fixed-effects model.
Results: Increased time spent using computers has led to more severe addiction to mobile phones. This relation supports the contention that mobile phones and computers interactively accelerate (or intensify) users¡¯ addiction to digital devices. Significant variables included delinquent tendencies, depression, aggression, and parenting abuse and neglect. The dummy variable of year was also significant.
Conclusions: This study concludes with a discussion of therapeutic implications in regards to prevention and intervention for adolescent digital device addiction.
